Arrived at the @10/24hr aire in the center of Pamplona today. Till 1730hrs we were the only occupants when another van arrived.

There are 16 Spanish* and one French van parked around the back of the firestation and the road in front.

Admittedly there's a 48hr limit and no return for one week, but ??

*Inc a €100k+ outfit.

At least you will not have to mix with them

Perhaps they were put off by the palaver of paying at that site, apart from which, are you complaining that you had paid before discovering there was a cheaper option?

Don't be put off by some of the responses.........I know what you are getting at.............it's in the thread title !

In a lot of mainland Europe, outside major towns and cities, parking is generally free, so many people are just not used to paying for parking, be it in a car or Motorhome.
So, parking for free is normal, paying is the exception.
I don’t understand why people are so obsessed with what other people are doing, especially in their own countries.

Maybe they are parked there to borrow some ladders so they can give their roofs a good old scrub?

Who is the smarter ? Those 16+who legally park for free or those who pay 10€ to park next door to them.:rofl: You are aware there are two more free Aires in Pamplona. Why should the cost of a motorhome be an issue with parking ???.

Someone called Subfiver has posted the same comment on Park4night, that will help even more FLT's. (y)

FLT ??

And yes, that was me too. And I wild camp, but for a municipality to provide an excellent cheap (for the facilities offered) central site and it not to be used irritated me. At the time.

Still some staying in Benidorm up from the market. Police have been out a few times.
No warnings just a fine. They took 2 owners to the campsite cash machine. In three weeks they've made a nice amount of euros.

Why would they go to a cash machine ? Surly the fine could be paid directly from a card to ensure no cash is handed over to the local plod.

We stayed on the site you are on a couple of years ago.

It was the same then with loads of vans on the crappy spare land at the side of the fire station.

We loved Pamplona. It was a lovely vibrant city with a brilliant cheap tapas and drink night on the bull running streets every Thursday.

Well worth the € 10 a night to stay on the aire.
Each to their own!
