solar have 25 year life . most of the used panels have been taken from solar farms where larger panels have been put in there place so they can collect more of your tax's in government tarifs

Worth chucking one on the garage roof to keep the motorbike batteries charged. Pack away the smart charger

We've had discussion about these panels before. I was struggling and still am on the economic arguments that made someone replace solar panels. Either the new panels generated enough extra watts per square metre to make it worth fitting them, or there was another reason. Which is what worries me.

They may be absolutely fine and as described but it would be nice to know the reason why they were changed. It may explain this on the website but if so, I haven't found it.

THEY CHANGE THE PANELS FOR ONE'S WITH A GREATER WATTAGE OUTPUT,BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT GIVE LARGE AMOUNT'S OF ALL OF OUR TAX REVENUE TO PROVIDE GREEN ENERGY
SO THE THING TO LOOK AT IS HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP YOUR MOTORHOME ?

Technology moved on since they were first installed in 2001 and from the picture they are polycrystalline too. After all that time they probably produce 80% at best in good Sun.

ON THE TAG IS DATE PANEL WAS PASSED IN THE FACTORY . ARE YOU DOING A LINE IN NEW PANELS?

All panels degrade and claims when new are already optimistic. Wattage is relative to dimensions and my roof has limited space so I would not personally be using over sized under productive 14 year old polycrystalline even if they were free.
No need to shout BTW

Do they guarantee the output wattage and how long for? It's not such a good deal if your "120W" panel is 10 years old and already down to say 60% output. £80 for a 70W panel isn't such a good price.

No need to shout and get aggressive. All I am saying is that they are not so cheap that people should not look at new pricing as well.

Who said they were in use in the UK ? Have I missed that ? We don't have many solar farms for good reason.

My own 100 watt mono crystalline are 1200x540x35 and fit the spaces on my roof.

The £50 used are 1425 x 653 x 59 mm which is huge and would not fit anywhere on many vans 59mm thick frames  and will produce less power than mine.

We really should drop this thread. You in good faith passed on a nice lead which is what FUN is all about. Others, also in good faith said "take care".

Lets not let this turn into a fight, we're all on the same side. If you have cheap panels and they are doing the business for you then you're the winner.

Just think of some of the folk who have paid £450 ( seen that at shows ) for a single panel, fitted. I hope they don't read this thread.

We bought ours with the intention of keeping it 10 yrs or more but I have 300 watt of solar that I fitted over two yrs ago now. There will be someone who finds used panels suitable but they must be aware of the facts, dimensions being the major aspect if they fit or not. There is plenty to mull over from the varied responses.

...and as a non-solar owner myself, I think that is very much appreciated

However, I am also appreciative of Andy & Brian pointing out that panels degrade (didn't know that) and these ones are particularly large...

So, thanks to all...
