I don't want a lightning quick one, I want to use it connected to wifi to control a GoPro camera via the GoPro app. I recently upgraded my iPad and iPhone to ios9 (beta) and the app won't connect now.
I'm not keen on Android, so it won't be used for anything else. Anyway, thanks for the info, I'll do a search on eBay

I think our nearest one is about 15 miles away. Might pop in next week and see what they have.

Does the Fire have access to all the Google Play apps? The only app I want to use at the moment is the GoPro App, if I can download that, I might consider the Fire. At the moment, favourite is the Lenovo Tab 2 8". Not sure on the quality of the non branded eBay ones, I'm sure they are fine, but I don't want to take a chance with one.

Another option would be an old Android phone if anyone in the family has upgraded and has an old one lying about. Used without a SIM card it is basically a small screen tablet but with all the app functionality.

No.

The official GoPro app doesn't appear to be listed in the Kindle app store. There are some 3rd party apps, but they don't get a very good review score.

If you have access to the Google Play store, search for GoPro, then look for apps by M-Apps. These are the ones that are offered in the Amazon Store for the Kindle Fire.

The Kindle Fire isn't really a general purpose Android tablet. It is virtually hard wired into Amazon so if streaming videos and music is what you want then it is a good device at a good price but if you want it to do more then another device, such as the Hudl or Nexus 7 would be better.

I have an iPad Air 2 for streaming, music and everything else, its just really to pair up with my GoPro, so I need to be able to download the Google Play GoPro app. GoPro app won't connect on my iPad because it is running ios9 ( beta) and GoPro won't support ios9 till its officially released.

I can see and download the GoPro App on my Nexus 7. So I guess it should work, when an app won't run on my device it tells me and won't let me download it.

OI... Dont you start !!!

My son was Apple Apple Apple ....... You name it and he has had every device and phone until the iphone 6.
First experience of Android tablets was a long time ago and resistive screens so when i encountered an ipad it was like fresh air.. I love the ipad but time for a change, plus i'm a tight wad and want lots of storage so not paying silly money for a new ipad.

I bought a Lenovo Tab 2 8" with Lollipop 5.2 installed. Managed to download the Gopro app and connected my gopro fine.
I have one question, how do I get rid of the annoying clonk every time I type a letter on the keyboard?

Ah, found the setting to turn off keyboard sounds. Peace at last and Mrs A doesn't keep asking me if I'm going to sleep yet.
