What year is it? Is it on a Ford base vehicle?
I'm guessing that the vehicle is new to you, or have you been using it for some time without this issue?
Do you mean that the dashboard lighting switch turns itself on?
How are you turning the lights off? Manually at the dashboard switch?
By 'external lights' do you mean the vehicle's rear lights and the amber side marker lights?

Sorry for seemingly daft questions but I can't visualise the very odd situation.

(Or maybe you need an exorcist?)

Dashboard lights, amber lights and headlights are coming on. The van is sitting outside my house. I am putting them off with the remote key. Plus I’ve tried the manual key on the habitation door. All doors are locked. I come in and they all go on again after 5 minutes. I am up and down like a yo-yo trying to find a reason. Nothing to do with requiring exorcism! I need technical advice - not supernatural advice!

Purely guessing that it could be related to stray radio interference from a nearby source affecting the alarm/immobiliser but IKBA technical about alarms/immobilisers so can't help with that possibility.

Is this the first time you've parked it in that spot?

Margaret

Do you have any condensation on the windscreen? This can cause problems see my reply to another post.
This was reported on the Chausson owners group Facebook page. I will not copy across from that page as it is a private group. However some detail below.

"With further discussion with Ford the source of the short is the C311 connector which is located on the passenger side of the van in the dash under the cup holder. " "This happens from condensation from the windscreen" "This damage causes the BCM to go into safe mode. The flashing headlights indicates this."

Hope this helps

Hi Margaret,
we also have a Chausson 640 on a Ford transit base, we experienced the headlights coming on after a really cold night in Bakewell our windscreen was dripping with condensation. We spoke to our supplier and Vanbitz, we could not set our immobiliser because the system said the ignition was on. I believe that the problem was because we had condensation causing a short. Eric S provided us with excellent info. I had to disconnect the cab battery to prevent it from going flat. We had the van checked out for half a day by the supplier who could not find a fault. Try and get you van nice a dry inside a dehumidifier would help, and use you heater and windscreen cover to prevent screen condensation when using your van.
