Is it possible to leave duvalays (about 2" thick) on top of electric bed whilst the bed is raised to the ceiling? Just about to purchase a Chausson and a negative answer to the above could be the killer for it.
Thanks for any help.

not long enough
I would be very surprised and disappointed if you cant for any reason

Not sure if you are concerned about it fitting or something else, but surely it must be OK

We have a mattress pad, a duvet and sometimes another duvet on our bed. It seems to fit ok. When the bed goes up it stops a little way from the top. We then push the button until the seat belt hold can click into place. Could you try it our first to see if you are happy with it?

Thanks Davidg58 and spidery for quick replies, I did not mention that I meant to place the Duvalays on top of the mattress that is already there, don't know if your answers will now be different.

I have my bedding plus mattress pad on top of the current mattress. Also sometimes have another duvet if daughter is coming away with us. No pillows though, i have made cushion covers for them so they have duel purpose :-)

For anyone interested. The standard duvalays about 2" thick will fit in above the electric bed on a 510 Chausson motorhome when raised to the ceiling, we tried it at the dealers yesterday, however, we want to buy a 610 but was told the electric beds are the same.

Great news there is a surprising amount of room. Is the duvalays got all the bedding you need? Might look for one of them :-)

We have used Duvalays for 5 years ( same ones) and have found them very comfortable, the summer grade duvalay which is included we have found to be ok, we don't do winter motorhoming, however, can always put a blanket over you if needed. Very good for bad backs we find. No other bedding needed.

Ahh so your talking about the duvalay sleeping bags? I thought it was just the topper. Do you use two singles ? As the web site says two makes a double but wondered if that would be too wide?

Hi Spidey, yes we use two singles I don't understand how two make a double because each single has its own Duvet and sheet which encloses the duvet, and used side by side you don't pich the sheets from the other person.

Thanks etap, so just to be clear :-) before i spend a lot of money. You tried two singles in the electric bed and they fitted side by side? They look great and would like some:-)

I thought you meant a 2" matress topper when we tried one of those it wouldn't go up it does though with just a duvet on (I suppose they squash easier).

Hi Spidey,
I have just been to measure the memory foam part of the Duvalay and of course the duvet goes on the top but squashes down a lot, it is a summer weight one.
The size of one duvalay is 65cm wide x 189cm long x 4.5cm thick, we only took one to the dealer and it looked as tho. Two would fit on the bed. But now I have given you the actual size of the mattress you can measure your own bed to ensure all is ok, I take it you have a chausson with an electric bed? To add it appears from theChausson information leaflet that the elect. bed on the ford is
1,280mm wide which is 20mm shorter than 2x 65cm but probably won't be a problem. on the Fiat it is 1380mm plenty of room, anyway please measure for yourself before going ahead.

A few years now
Whether you like the sleeping bag type of Duvalay or just the mattress topper then there are good deals to be had online a few times a year both direct from Duvalay & from Amazon but not seen any deals on them when we looked at NEC show in the last couple of years. We have a mattress topper made to fit our Chausson french bed & a standard size double bed topper too & both add a lot of comfort. See http://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum...off-selected-items-until-17th-november.96222/ & http://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum...ttress-topper-190-x-66-x-2-5-cm-£34-99.97916/ for previous chats about this.

I think Duvalay had their annual sale in November. There were some bargains though at the October show.
