Chausson / Challenger refillable gas bottle sizes (1 Viewer)

Thought I would post this as information for other owners of these vans. We own a 2021 Challenger 287GA. This, as most of these vans do, has storage for a single 11kg gas bottle due to the heating being a Truma diesel heater. We recently decided to make the move to a refillable LPG gas system and so went to our dealer looking for options. What we (in conjunction with our wonderful moho mechanic Darek) discovered is that if you have space for a standard 11kg bottle, then it is possible to fit a 14kg Alugas bottle into the locker. It's a tight squeeze and requires that the handle of the bottle be removed (it simply unbolts from the bottle) but it is certainly doable and gives a little bit extra capacity which we are really looking forward to having!
