Decided to have a week around Suffolk. Only been back from Europe ten days, so missing motorhoming. Anyway Charlie wanted to come and bring his balls.

Now arrived in Aldeburgh at Church Farm. A stone's throw from the water. Charlie has chosen his blue rugby ball for today.

At yesterday's site we watched the fascinating spectacle of an older couple setting up their caravan. It took 45 minutes. That was just the
too-ing and fro-ing of the auto movers. Which were literally smoking once the van was in the desired position. I suspect they hardly had any battery left. It went backwards and forwards. Forwards and backwards, many times. Each time they had a discussion about location between the pegs and the sun location.

I was so transfixed that I'd forgotten about drinking two bottles of beer and half a bottle of wine whilst watching.

After he'd put the hot remote down I mentioned that the auto movers were a great help. He said yes because they'd been pushing it for years!

I suppose watching folks set up at sites is a national sport.

Anyway this site is very nice and we've already made up our minds to return at some point.

Yes, we have been there twice in our short "career" so far. Funnily enough I thought about it earlier when reading another thread about the need for ramps - a definite on many of the pitches there...

Don’t forget the famous fish and chips. The one just before the end of the high st. Always a queue.

Definitely worthwhile. You then have a couple (or more) choices of where to eat them - either in the yard of the pub next door with a glass of something refreshing, or risk the gulls and eat them on the beach (the pub also does take away glasses :) )

It's it right, a £500 fine for taking your dog on the beach and £2500 for feeding the seagulls?

What if your dog feeds the seagulls on the beach?

Oh dear, not with his smelly a**e at present, they can have him.

We try to please our visitors in East Anglia AND keep them entertained in a healthy manner.
(I will be around to collect the beer you didn't drink later! 😀)

You're more than welcome. It's chilling in the fridge, along with some cider, wine (sparkling/still) and Aperol.

A little add on to the site setting up 'watching'. Whilst the couple were getting their caravan in order, a Whoosh-bang (which I like by the way, but love the nickname) had arrived, but was blocked by said couples antics. Once path was cleared, after some time. They proceeded to complete 5 laps of the site, whilst looking for a suitable pitch. He then did another two laps on foot. This people watching is great. I'm sure we've provided some entertainment over the last year and probably will continue to do so for many years to come.

Nice to see that we're not the only ones who complete a few laps of a site now and again.

daveclare

If you're heading Ipswich way, take a look at Burnt Farm Cottage, was only £10 per night Inc EHU last year/£6 without. Single track into the site but it's never been a problem for us.

Basically just a field with facilities, but you should be able to let Charlie have a run, but watch out for the rabbit holes/hare holes in the field.

I did a review on it last year if you need more info?

Sadly I cannot get there, I'm up in Scarborough before heading to the Bridlington Fun meet on Wednesday.
Have a great time in EA! 😀

And I have chosen a refreshing bottle of Belgian beer. Not everybody's choice but fruity and very cold.

I guess a visit to the Adnams shop down the road is on the list for tomorrow. I'll hold you personally responsible for any 'post drinking' mishaps::bigsmile:

And then I'll get my chest waxed!!

Today we have mainly been be walking and then stopping for fish and chips. As the pub next door to the chippy allows you to eat them accompanied with their drinks, I had a pint of Broadside.

Listening to advice from funsters can be dangerous at times. L'hobo, Gaston Aires & KD:rock:

Because the route back passed the Adnams store and I suffered a moment of weakness.

The Broadside wouldn't come alone unless two of its brothers came along also. This motorhoming lark has sort of gone hand in hand with drinking alcohol.

It sort of goes:

Pitch up somewhere (nice or not)
Have a wander around
Buy local food and drink
Have a nice evening
Repeat!

Charlie was happy because he chose his favourite odd shaped ball.

I'm happy you are researching all the produce available but shamefully must admit I have never tried the stout (I must try harder 🤔) I look forward to your official report? 😀
Nice to see Charlie is enjoying himself! 😊
