The aire at Charleville-Mezieres doesn't seem to be on the campercontact website any more. They're usually pretty up to date with their info, so I wonder if anyone has been recently and knows if it's still running as an aire. Thanks

It was last year but only small 5or6 vans if I remember and u need some serious ramps to get anywhere near level. First time ever needing ramps on 3 wheels and I am not that fussy about absolute level.
Municipal campsite just over the fence at the back which is where u have to go for electricity.
And the bridges nearby have very low weight limits.
Place was well worth a visit.
And its on camping car info.

we parked on there and there were around 14 vans crammed in, one French owner was creating because he left his van there most of the year renting it out to others and they couldn't park their cars next to the van, he called the police to try to get the other vans moved, unsuccessfully! only place I've seen 2 youths about 12 turn up on a scooter with no helmets with an enormous hookah pipe which they smoked until the late hours.

We got there with a 3.6m high RV, there is a route through a nearby housing estate avoiding the bridge, but we pitched on the main site down by the river , much more room.

That's higher than I thought. Thought it was less than 3m - seemed tight in our Burstner and that was less than 3m!

Well we got under(y) we are talking about the steel footbridge.

It's still there. We had a look at it last month but it was rammed. We ended up at Montherme a few km further north.
