Can anybody tell me, does the charger switch on my psu need to be on when the engine is running for the batteries to be charged. On my control panel lights for both leisure and vehicle batteries flash regardless of the switch being on/off when the engine is running. The unit is a Sargent EC400 series combined mains and 12v. I have read the manual but cant seem to take it in:Blush: I also typed this all once before and didnt insert a title and wondered where my post had gone:ROFLMAO: Dave.

Since 2005
no...the battery selection switch is for the mains charger when on hookup.

with the engine running, the leisure battery will be charged automaticallyby the engines alternator via a split charge relay under the bonnet.

Thanks Pappajohn, makes sense to me now.Its only because the manual says the switch can be left on all the time but needs turning off if you need to disconnect battery.
