Just got off the tunnel train and driven round to the normal motorhome stop by the outlet shops.
Parked up , noted we were the only ones here. , thought it was a bit odd !
Getting out to take the dogs for a pee when we were approached by 2 security guards to be told it was no longer open.
After some shabby French on my part and Shabby English on theirs.
They have directed Us to Lidl car park just up Europa Avenue.
Now sitting on our own close to MaccyDs
With a few locals flying past on scooters no doubt needing a delicious burger.
Anyway I’m probably the only one that missed out on a previous thread re the closure of said parking site , so apologies if this is old news !

Ok. So guessing I did miss the thread then ?

Yeh , been covered a few times , nothing worse than your plans being upset at the last minute
If you need to move on there is other threads on fun with other places to park , hope you have a good night
& a good holiday ?

I am quite interested in using the Lidle car park but surprised to hear you were alone there. Did you see any 'foreign' visitors?

Righty ho. I’ve obviously been too busy to read all of MHF threads lately. Only the ones that really make me laugh where you have to pop our and get the popcorn for the toilet threads ??
Not noticed them ( shame on me )
No foreign or otherwise people Parked up at Lidl , only us and the two Norfolk terriers who I have engaged into alarm mode. !
Not that they will help in the event of a break in as anyone that knows anything about Norfolk’s will attest to.
Too busy snoozing and thinking of their next snack !

Good morning. Hope you slept well !!

Actually no ! Thanks for asking. After the usual car noise got quieter , loud aggressive shouting started. This went on continuously through the night. It was from outside the ibis hotel so we assumed their security would deal with it.
During the night as I was awake I thought I heard someone tampering with the garage lock so got up immediately but couldn’t see anyone.
we got up when it was light and saw 3 refugees ( carrying blankets ) heading towards us.
when they saw us in the window they stopped had a chat and turned back.
So all in all terrible nights sleep.
Definitely not worth the risk of staying. !

Thanks. That's one to be avoided then !! We don't usually stay in that area but have contemplated it from time to time, def wont be contemplating in the future.

They were probably wanting to join their mate in your garage who had climbed aboard earlier.

We don’t stop anywhere near the channel crossings anymore. I drive for an hour or more to find somewhere to overnight. That way any itinerant doesn’t know where your heading ?

That’s a comforting thought ! Haven’t checked the garage yet. He will be surprised when we tip up in the Spanish Pyrenees where it’s chuffing freezing ?
Oh my, wouldn’t that be a hoot :rofl:

Yep I absolutely agree. Stopped there only once before when the aire was open but definitely won’t do it again !

It never was actually an Aire in the correct meaning, just a supermarket carpark where motorhomes could park same as the buses which I believe you can still do in the daytime, give it time and I think one of these paid for Aire things will open close to it, shame really as it was always a convenient stop, and the police station is right there so you wouldn't of thought there would be any trouble but obviously there must of been , we have been many times and never encountered anything untoward.
