Hi All,
I am looking for advice please if i may, I currently have Michelin Agilis tyres 215/70 R15 and am looking to replace all four tyres soon, is there an advantage to using this tyre - 225/70 R15 S (112) instead?
can i change them?
is it better?
anything i should be aware of "IF" i do it?

many thanks in advance for your wisdom.

Hi. Search the forum for "tyres" or "tyres 225" and you will find lots of posts about this.
You are usually safe to move up one tyre width but a professional fitter can advise better from the exact wheel code you have.
Wheels usually have a code embossed on them on inner surface.
Also check the load code like you mention 112 etc....
If the larger tyre is more popular then they are often cheaper too.

I think it may depend on the vehicle, I can’t remember why but when I enquired about changing mine on a twin wheel merc Hymer I was told I couldn’t, spacers maybe!

I changed mine from 225/65R16 112 to 235/65R16 121 , I had upped my vehicle
Weight to 3950 KG and the 112 rated tyres were just within limits, so the 121 rated
Tyres gives me a healthy margin above what I needed,

There will be a change to the speedo error.
Note I said speedo ERROR, your speedo won't be accurate before you change anyway.

Yes, we did the same when uprating weight. Only downside was reduced clearance on the rear wheel arches when changing a wheel, because our Laika had a skirt straight across rather than an arch.

My 3850kg alko ducati is on 215's but I ordered 116 10 ply rating instead of the 112 8 ply that were on there.
What's your reason for wanting to change width?
Mpg will go down slightly with wider tyres and speedo error will be slightly "different" but other than that not a lot else to worry about.
Are 225's generally cheaper and easier to source or something (never looked into it)
