Anyone just turned up late for the ferry? We've booked Caen to Portsmouth for the Friday but want to delay to Sunday. C&CC want about £100 to change the ferry (difference I price plus their admin fee!) Just wondered if cheaper to just turn up late?

With Brittany Ferries changes are free if done on line. You may have to pay more if you change a June booking for say August, but there is no admin fee.

Always ring the ferry companies direct .somtimes going it can cost an extra £20 or30 ,but coming Back .I always appologize for being early by telling them I had a great run to the ferry .The usually ask if you would like to go on the next ferry ,a smile ,yes please and it's a freebee lol.

Ignore C&CC. Contact the ferry company directly.

Don't think you can if you booked through the club,,,

Thanks for your suggestions. An email from them said about £100 including their "admin fee" but when I spoke to them was under £80.

Prices do vary at different times and on different days of the week. To save pennies sail early on a weekday.

I've also had both P&O and DFDS allow me credit on cancelled bookings, which I carried over to new bookings a few months later. Always deal with them directly.

I certainly wouldn't just turn up 2 days late and expect to even travel, let alone for free

If 2 days early definitely worth a try, they will want to move you if they have a space so they can resell your original space again

Had to change our summer holiday return sailing date allowing another week in France. Phoned P&O last night - only cost £21.
