Good afternoon all,
I’ve upgraded the stereo in the Fiat Ducato from the touch screen uconnect system as it was pretty crap and I wanted apple car play. Now I have the clock on the dash continuously flashing and the date is 1st Jan, Ive tried to use the Mode button but that doesn’t give the option to change the clock. Anyone got any ideas. It use to be adjusted through the uconnect stereo.
Cheers
Graham

A flashing odometer is a sign of a low level canbus fault.
Probably things relating to recent changes to the electrics.
A poor connection, earth, its still looking for the old radio or the configuration of the new device.

As post #2. Any flashing odometer in the Fiat group means you need to do a Proxy realignment with Multiecuscan. It tells the CANbus which modules are fitted. Free with a kindly MES owner or a couple of hundred quid at the stealers.

No I still have the flashing clock when I go for the next mot I’ll ask the garage to see if it can be reset as people seem to think the CANbus whatever that is need to be reprogramme. As a temporary solution I did what PaulyP said and stuck some tape over it when I was changing the dial surrounds for white ones.

I don’t really understand how having the CANbus reprogrammed will help, I understand it might stop the clock flashing but there is no way to change the time on the clock as it was done through the old Uconnect stereo unit

I have a large tv at our static, when it’s switched off and goes into standby overnight a red light appears, at some point during the night it will start flashing and it lights up the whole lounge area, if the bedroom door is open you can see it in there, black tape over the red light soon solved the problem !

Maybe it will bring back being able to use the mode control option for clock operation adjustments which my Peugeot van has , my Fiat Ducato before this one also had mode control being used for clock changes.

Did you use a canbus interface module to get the steering wheel controls to work. If you did worth getting in touch with whoever supplied that module to make sure you have the right one.

Had the odometer flashing on a 2013 van after upgrading the radio. Alfa OBD fixed it easily.

Can you please explain what this is, as I have the same problem.

Hi I have managed to eliminate the flashing odometer it was a Cambus issue, I replaced my factory fitted Uconnect Satnav/radio. For a 10 inch touchscreen android head unit and was experiencing a lack of functionality in my steering wheel controls, I had fitted a Cambus adapter when installing the new head unit and setting the 8X dip switches on the adapter and through trial and error I had worked out which of the dip switches was causing the flashing order meter and when positioned properly this stopped the flashing I appreciate that this may not be applicable to your situation

I found a thread from IanFI on the forum where he explained a simple way to plug the old stereo in to the ODB plug and use it to change the date and time. Its really simple to make up the wiring and worked perfectly saves the cost of the Cambus update at a fiat dealer. Just plug in twice a year to change to summer and winter time.
