From what I understand, the age of the MOHO and engine size will correctly determine the class of certificate. TBH not sure what the process is to get the authorities to re check their database.

Not quite true as a MH over 3500Kg is classified as a truck and the class for trucks start at 3 irrespective of age and engine size. I queried my class 3 and was told to look in section V9 of the vehicle documentation. As a UK V5 doesn't have a section V9, I replied asking them to re-look at my application and attached V5 and go on age only. - and still waiting.

Another one to add to my "ignore" list then. :D With all the fantastic pictures on Photo of the Day :notworthy:and most people seem to get class 2 and I got a 3,:p I am in need of a holiday to get away from this site for a while. - as long as I don't go through a town with a Cat 2 limitation.

We are 4.5kg but it does not seem to ask weight on the site, we met all the other criteria for a class 2. Weight is in the COC which I had to send them. Still waiting for a reply from them. Itmt will keep emailing them.

I have just received a reply to my complaint that the 4 cert I got should have been a 3. (I didn't complain that the 3 I got for my old two-stroke scooter should have been a 4?)
I haven't had time yet to translate the reply (we're currently on a shakedown run prior to our forthcoming trip to Europe)
I'll update as and when.

On double checking, and further research, it seems my Hymer, first registered here on 6/8/2009, is Euro 4, Large Goods Vehicle class (over 3,500kg) so gets a Red Level 4 Crit'Air :(. Had it been registered 8 weeks later, it would have qualified for an Orange Level 3.

Oh well, C'est la vie.

Completed the forms on Friday for a class 3. Certificate arrived this morning. They accept a black and white copy of the logbook if anyone is having difficulty reducing the colour copy sizing. Excellent service so maybe we should let the french run our DVLA.

Only if the Aires are in Paris centre at the moment or one of the other 11 cities joining the "Clean Air non Pollution" scheme soon.

How come? We're 4250kg
Filled in the form & put van down as light commercial >3.5t which means "more than" 3.5t (as basically the Ducato base is a light commercial van, not a truck) copied the V5 which clearly shows Revenue Weight at 3850 (but Max. Permissible Mass & Mass In Service @ 3500), sent it all off & it came back as class 2. Am contemplating re-applying, or should I just leave it? This is the Site I used - https://www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/demande-ext/cgu . If you check the 2 boxes, click on the "Next Tab", click "I am not a robot" & "add vehicle", the application form will come up.
