Good evening and merry xmas to everyone on here was looking at protecting my paint work on the motorhome after getting my car done I decided on ceramic coating the whole motorhome with a stage 3 correction then ceramic x coating I was wondering as anyone else had it done the results are outstanding this is a 2014 model

Took a week to do full job £750 the water just beads off it dont need to polish no more just wash with ph neutral shampoo and every six months quick detailer called ceramic sport sprayed on and wipe off like mirror very very happy so much easier to keep clean now

Would it work on a car?

Does it hide scratches?

Yes as long as there are not deep when there do a three stage correction the lads get all defects out of the paint before the ceramic coating goes on

Had ceramic finish to car and motorhome from new. Car now 4 years old and it has never needed polishing, water still beads and runs off. Motorhome too new to say how good it is long term but have high expectations.

With regard to a car, and I suppose a motorhome too.... What happens if you have a minor ding that needs knocking out and respraying but doesn't warrant a full panel replacement?
Can the coating be overpainted or is a full new panel required.?

Yes it can if u have a scratch or a ding in a panel and that panel says it needs painted once painted you can get that panel redone with the ceramic coating

So is it suitable for both GRP and Aluminium sections and can older motorhomes be done? Would you need some sort of pre preparation on an older van?

Yes ceramic coating going all over vechicle yes if it's old may need more work on it depends what the paints like its basically a clear glass coat so preparation is a key to the end result

Produced by a manufacturer of a DIY product, so may not be entirely impartial. :)
There’s lots of info on the net some good some bad, my view is that any coating is better then nothing, ceramic or polish but at that price...? Nah... general consensus is that it needs doing again after 3-5yrs..

It does the same job as wax but presumably doesn't need to be replaced so often. I gave our MH a good coat of Collinite 476 at the end of August and rain is still beading off. It needs redoing but when the tin is finished I might change to Collinite 845. It doesn't last quite so long but is easier to apply.
These ceramic waxes sound good but the MH still needs washing and having to replace the wax every 6 months isn't a huge chore.

Our ceramic still has dark stains down certain points which I have been surprised about - thought I should not have this issue with this treatment.

Yes its not just keeping up waxing it u got to polish it with ceramic it's done for the next 5years and if u use the detailing spray it prolongs the ceramic, bugs and water stains are none existing with ceramic too me ceramic all day long

Our Ceramic coating has been professionally applied to all surfaces. Attention to preparation seems to be vital, if you have imperfections you just seal them in.

How long has yours been done and are u happy with it

I agree and when you get close and personal with a wax polish you become well aquanted with every inch, so any marks, loose fittings or stone chips for example can be dealt with before they become serious. Also I find the twice annual waxing very theraputic even though it leaves my shoulder in need of traction!

I agree it's not easy waxing a motorhome especially mine been 7.5m long and doing roof is a job in its self that's y I went down the ceramic route

My car has been done for a year now and MH was done the week before xmas the car looks stunning all the time and the MH well for a 2014 plate looks like it was just made really really happy with it

Stupid question - does a ceramic coating add much weight to something motorhome size?

Adds nothing to the weight the stuff comes in a bottle the size of a nail varnish bottle

That is tiny. Not sure why but my naive mind went to ceramic coatings of other things which are more substantial.

This is substantial once on and its cured this is the size of the bottle
