Getting better
I bought a Cello Traveller (22" Smart) recently and on EHU it works without problems. On 12v it is absolutely dead and has never worked on 12v. Cello sent me two different chargers and neither made any difference. I did not try it immediately on purchase and as I had it more than 28 days, Cello had it collected for repair and I received it back today. It is still completely dead on 12v, no power, no light on the TV coming on or on the charger (which should show a green light) but works on EHU. My 12v Endless Breeze fan works fine plugged into the same 12v habitation area socket, so its not the socket.

Any ideas please?

More than toes wet now!
Have you \ could you try the 12v tv lead in a different socket?
Have you got a crocodile clip to 12v socket cable you could connect directly to the battery terminals and try plugging the tv cable into that?
Could the socket you're using not be making proper contact with the +ve terminal on the plug (shorter than your fan plug)?
Could you swap the fan and tv lead plugs?

Hi, you may need to check the current output from your 12v Socket the Cello adapter needs 7amps, we had a problem with ours once would not work on 12v turned out the leisure battery was low so did not have enough current to run the TV once it was fully charged worked fine

Hi. Mine works fine on 12v. But, the 'cigar' plug for 12v on mine can be a bit temperamental, in that the connection in the socket doesnt always work and requires it to be 'twisted' in the socket to make a solid connection.

This might sound bizarre but is the Endless Breeze turning the right way when you connect it? I'm wondering if the + and - connections to the socket might be reversed.

Can you plug the TV into a different cigar lighter socket, one on the dash for instance, even if this means taking the TV down to get it closer.

If the TV comes with a 240v power supply and this plugs into the tv in the same socket as that used by the 12v lead then the 12v lead has to be faulty. If it is one you have made yourself is it wired up the correct way round with centre pin at 12v. Is the socket you are using wired the correct way. Sounds daft but have you got the right connector for the TV socket. Lot of them look the same but have different sized holes in the centre.

Don't forget there maybe a fuse in the 12v lead. They hide them in the plug.

Hi yes there is fuse in Cello TV adaptor, you need to undo the small ring on the end and fuse is just behind the end that is spring loaded, if your 12v socket is reversed then it my have blown the fuse in the adaptor

I broke the red tip on the end of my Cello 12v adapter and was not amused. Took that bit off and has worked fine since

The red tip adapts it for use in a cig lighter socket but as you have found isn't essential. Without the red tip it fits a Hella-type 12v socket.

It now fits my cigarette socket better! Thought I had broken it.
Working well through France and Spain. SatDish beginning to look like an anchronism

I'm watching one of those right now, but only because I have the input connector taped to one side.

When i fit the connector, either 220v or 12v I get no power, but found that if the power connector is pulled to either side it makes a connection.

Moved it slightly to one side & stuck it down with some gaffer tape, will have a better look when I have time.

HTH,

Hymie

Are you sure my 19" draws only 2 amps I would expect a 22" to draw less than 3 amps.

Sounds like a poor connection between plug & socket.
I never used the plug on mine, I wired it in via a switch & fuse. I try not to use anything that plugs into cigar lighter sockets, the Hella ones are ok

That is just the rating of the power supply nothing to do with how much current the TV draws, they probably use the same supply on larger sets.

Also it says 7 amps in 5 out at 12v that would be very inefficient for a voltage stabilizer. I would take those figures with a pinch of salt.

Been having a senior moment my last van I had a 19". Current van I fitted a 22" .

Just been out and checked it, draws 2.75 amps from the supply, like I said the 7 amps is meaningless.

I have a 22" Cello that also has this problem. Although only used on 12v so not sure with 240v.
