After reading this post this afternoon, I discovered that the latest CBE 516 (-3) supports AGM batteries with a third setting (charging at 14.7 volts). Luckily this latest model is installed in my van. I have ordered an AGM to replace a failing wet battery.

AGMs don't have the best reputation as leisure batteries.

AGM's are bad news as leisure batteries very unreliable if you want a reliable battery fit a gel the CBE should have the correct settings for gel.

CBE does support Gel but I have decided on AGM which I may regret - we will see.
