Carver 3000 stuck on (1 Viewer)

Hi, I have a carver 3000 in my caravan. I've turned it on this morning but the twist knob and juts come loose. Heater still lit but no way of turning it off...help

Take the cover off then you will be able to access the knob where the control knob fits on.

Long nose pliers to reach in and turn it off ?? Not familiar with the heater... Pictures ??

Thank you, I've turned my gas off from the bottle outside for now, is it really simple to take the front off? Should it just pull or will I need screwdrivers? Sorry for all the questions

I understand these are older units, suspect the plastic in the knob has gone brittle with the heat and broken up inside where it fits on the metal shaft..

On our old caravan Carver, I think you just eased the bottom away from the heater by 1/2" and then slid the cover upwards, off a couple of locating tangs ?

Can't really remeber but I think it just clips off push back and lift.
