Dogs and Kids = Vinyl , A quick brush or wipe with a damp cloth and it's good as new.
Every van and caravan I've owned sooner or later has had the carpets removed, they were always filthy and smelly when they came out .. and either vinyl or cork tiles laid.. Did this in the RV.. Laid cork tiles throughout .. bar the bedroom which was closed off until bed time.
Carpet is fine for oldies with their house slippers on.. however, once incontinent.. ..better vinyl .
You want to enjoy your van, not be continually checking for dirt on your feet, taking shoes on/off.. telling kids and visitors to 'take yer shoes off' ...wiping dogs paws.. life's too short.
Do you have carpet in the kitchen at home.. ? So why in a van.. It's just so impractical.
You won't find many/any continental vans with fitted Axeminster .. It's defo a Brit thing.
