The aire in Carnac has been closed but a new site has been opened on some old tennis courts about a mile away alongside the alignments. It's hard standing and free but without services. The address is Ke'rabus, rue du pergatoire , allee des alouettes. N47.59555 W3.07699. Hope this is of some use.

I can confirm that despite the fact the Aires book says it’s still there. You’d be amazed how much time you can waste driving around a tiny place looking for something which isn’t there. Just got to find somewhere else instead
