Carcassonne Aire (1 Viewer)

I was just chatting with my mate who stayed at this Aire before Xmas.
They were just walking back to the van and there was a pair of legs sticking out of the side window and some one underneath the intruders heard them coming and ran off, my mate gave chase bit couldn't catch them but he said there were discarded items from other raided motor homes on some waste land nearby luckily not much damage was done.
He said it was the first time they have had any problems in France.

We stayed at the Camping de la Cite which is next door the the Aire and thought it looked pretty secure with high fences.

we used the aire for what it is a car park last year, you can get an hour (or might be half an hour) totally free, but for an aire it represents very poor value to overnight in our opinion

sorry to hear about anybody being broken into though, but could happen anywhere I guess

Camping de la Cite is a lovely site, we looked at the aire and really didn't fancy it at all..

WE did exactly the same. The camp site is very nice and well separated from each other. We will use it again.

Agree with DavidG58. We called in there last September, parked in the Aire and looked at the prices. Ended up staying an hour or so and then moved on. We had been before and stayed overnight, so felt that we had seen it all before.

just found this link on the camp site web site for a different aire to the one I was talking about

looks interesting, but I cant see the rates, but based on the campsite being about €20 it hopefully is that or less
