VIN CHIP has already been discussed here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/vin-chip.231540/#post-4220589 but the updated version of CaravanID https://caravanid.com/about/ is currently being promoted by our local police authority (& maybe others?) through Neighbourhood Watch schemes. Have read that it was started by a retired police officer & has Secured by Design approval so should be a well thought out product. It's been around since 2020 so wondered if anyone has this fitted & what you think of it? Know DrunkenDuncan & Wizz mentioned it before. Have contacted CaravanID to see if they will offer discount for Fun members in case it is of interest on here.

Well done on getting the discount. Been with CaravanID since the start, so I have got one of the self selected numbers that are no longer used anymore as the numbering system has been updated to make the ID more applicable to the vehicle that it is on (which makes sense really).
Does rely on members of the public, the police or other CaravanID members to check a suspect vehicle (on the plus side you do not have to be very close to the vehicle to check it as the numbers are everywhere on it and some are quite large), but I believe that it is far more effective as a visible deterrent making our un-friendly neighbourhood tea-leafs move onto a vehicle without it whether they know what it means or not. Loads of fun putting all the stickers on! ;)

Good to have some feedback - thank you! For us we might go for the campervan option for the smaller stickers & may not use all of them. Hope it's something that could really make a difference to the motorhome & caravan community if enough are aware of it.
