Still trucking and learning
Buy a good truckers sat nav - it allows you to put your height, width and length in. We have a Becker and have been very pleased with it. Oh, and

Loads of threads on "Chinese sat nav" normally about the 50 nicker mark on ebay and they do your height weight width and a hair cut with a bacon buttie, and several other decent features. (like the Swedish female voice)
We are on our second one owing to the wife dropping it when I passed it to her delicately and cracking the screen.
Our first one was called Miss Wong Wei.
I would suggest getting the one with a bigger memory if you go down this route. (Please excuse the pun)

Hi and welcome; dont worry about small villages in France, everybody breathes in now and again, and of course the dumpster has to get in there as well as delivery trucks. Just go for it and enjoy..:dance2:

Watch out for height barriers at popular car parks and also watch for the height restrictions at the approach to the pay booths on toll roads.

She has an autotrail miami... not too big
@ALISON CARRINGTON don't worry too much as other have said.
Can't say that we've ever been stuck in a town or village. Sometimes have issues with trailer on the back.
Just go and enjoy and make a note of your length and width

Don't worry about it - you can always reverse in a tricky situation. We haven't found an aire yet that we couldn't get into.

If the bin truck can go there, so can you.

Anyway, a bit of reversing into oncoming traffic is a good way to pick up some new French words. :)

Yep..... You could hear something like "Oh, tu la bouges ta caisse mec?" Or even worse "tu le bouges ton gros cul?"

"Alors, on t'aide ou bien?"... And this stays quite ...nice! LOL ... Sat nav should be nicer to you !!!

As an ex tugger of some 40 years I would agree with Lenny HB entirely. Unless you have been towing one of those micro caravans (Eriba Puck etc) you will get to more places with your motorhome, assuming it is around the 3.5 to 5 tonne mark, than you ever did with your car/caravan combination. As others have already said "If the bin lorry goes that way, you will get through".

The better question is what more can you do with you motorhome. :D

And the first answer is you can stay at the thousands of free or cheap motorhome only Aires that France has. Many of them are within walking distances of beautiful villages, towns and cities. And if they are not, use public transport or get yourself some electric bikes or a little scooter.

Oh and setting up and having the kettle on or the wine/beer open within a couple of minutes of arriving!!! (y)

Remember your motorhome will probably be much shorter and easier to manoeuvre that your car and caravan combo.
