Know this show is not as motorhome focused as the October Show but we like to go for the trade stands to see the latest gadgets & pick up any offers or discount codes from the stands that we can share.
Wondered if anyone has been sent complimentary tickets that they don't want & would be happy to offer them here? We could use some & happy to send a SAE & sure others might appreciate them too :)
For anyone going for the first time here are a few tips that might help:

Parking is included in the cost of your ticket & plenty of room to park the motorhome but not allowed to stay overnight. Car parks are normally some distance away from the main building & as lots of Show halls to walk around so might be a good idea to hop on the free shuttle bus that take you from the carpark to the main entrance but don't forget to note which car park you are in!
Sensible shoes - not just because of the large area that you might cover but also going up & down all those motorhome steps of varying heights safely.
Wear layers as although may be cold outside it gets really hot in the halls with all the lights & people.
Taking a rucksack with food & drinks is a good idea as cheaper & don't have to queue. Suggest only one rucksack if two of you as some manufacturers don't allow them to be taken into their premium models so may have to take it in turns or leave it outside.
As at this Show most of the motorhome stands are paid for by the dealers & they are showing their forecourt stock so they are more concerned about people being in the motorhomes & any potential damage whereas the October Show stands & stock are funded by the manufacturers so a bit more relaxed.
There is the option of visiting M&S Simply Food at the nearby airport by walking then using the free Air-Rail link - it's a short walk away. Any NEC staff should be able to point you in the right direction as they are normally friendly & helpful.
You can go in & out of the halls freely just don't forget to get your hand stamped the first time you leave. When it's busy & crowded being able to get outside in the fresh air for a break is really good.
Pace yourself - it can be a lot to get around (although the October Show is bigger) & if you have a limited time suggest planning & prioritising the stands you want to see. Suggest downloading the floor plan from here http://www.ccmshow.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/FEB-2018-23rd-Jan.pdf on your phone. Also more detailed info. about the stands & larger map at the back of the Show guide - pick up your free copy on arrival.
There is free Wi-Fi so worth checking any prices or information online before buying - some sales staff don't know all the facts or might even make it up to get a sale :(
Take photos of Show prices & layouts (there are usually boards outside each motorhome) & anything else that you might forget later. It's easy to be dazzled by all the glitz & excitement of the Show.
Ask for a cooling off period with your choice of motorhome held if you do agree a sale - 24 hours is normal.
The last free shuttle bus back to the car parks is normally 7pm or you may end up with a long walk back in the rain like we did one year
Be friendly & smile - it's long hours & hard work on the stands so more likely to get a good deal if you are likeable not demanding ::bigsmile:

Don't think a copy of that would be valid but handy as a reminder for those that have the magazine (y)

Presumably if everyone followed that advice you could pack up and go home early.

If you get the caravan club or C&cc club magazines there are vouchers in the february issues for reduced entry cost on the tuesday (caravan club day) or friday (friendly friday c&cc). Good savings to be had.

LOL Who in their right mind goes the last day of a show that has been open Six days and most of the staff have been there even longer

All the bargains, gone, all the freebies, gone, all the patience, gone. Leaflets and information run out or using old stuff as a last resort. Display equipment and stands broken, vandalised or bits knicked so not working properly, staff with sore throats and dry eyes who have been asked the same questions several thousand times in the last few days with croaking replies with fatigued monosyllabic answers

Many of the bigger Company's will bus part time staff in Saturdays and Sundays to give their staff a day off before they start back dealing with the orders and sales on the Monday after the show, so can't make decisions and often, whose product knowledge is dire

Personally I know that by Sunday, we will have run out of choccy biscuits and have to start on the Custard Creams with my Hot Chocolate

If your sight seeing go Sunday, if your looking to do a serious deal and be taken seriously go Midweek

One tip if you need a mobility scooter is order it very early because they get inundated with requests on the day

We took my own which was a big help

We aren't old enough to have tickets at £6.50 each yet  & travelling from the rural Somerset, with fuel & cheapie hotel costs a trip to either NEC Show for two days normally costs at least £170 (on top of everyday costs) so think of all the meets & rallies we could do for that!

You could knock £70 or more off that by using your van and stopping in a BRIT STOP pub for the night,,BUSBY:D

Current book is around £30 delivered & have bought it twice before but never near where we need to be so not used :( & would only be fair to buy something from host so the stay wouldn't be free. Also would have to tax the motorhome for a month just for that one trip. We aren't moaning about the cost - it's our choice to go but like others if we get to use unwanted tickets then that saving helps :)
