Wish him well, but how did he get it?......................

Second everything said here. Mrs DDJC says that the NHS frontline staff see him as one of their own.

Just said on bbc news that his family tweeted that they had a holiday in Barbados in December wasn’t we in lockdown?

I wish him well and the statistics are on his side. The very old have a good chance of pulling through. I've heard them described as "super survivors" which stems from their ability to have lived that long in the first place.

Whoops.
"In December, he went on a family holiday in Barbados after British Airways paid for his flight." @BBC News

On one hand, I don't begrudge the old fella a free holiday in what little time he might have at 100...
...but millions have not been able to even see their grandchildren, much less go on holiday.

Whatever, I hope he recovers

A true Brit, fought for his country and raised £millions for the NHS. Get well soon.

Yes, possibly ill-advised, and I wouldn't have done it. However, thirty three million quid, WWII veteran and a telegram from HMQ, buys you a lot of credit in the DDJC house ::bigsmile: ::bigsmile:

...and, as far as I can tell, completely within the restrictions at that time.

Ill-advised?
8h in a pressurised atmosphere does tax the elderly with its lowered O2 levels
Humidity in BGI might be a shock to the body
Going inside to Aircon, then outside.
Lots pick up chest infections, even in normal times.
Probably didn't want to make a fuss & developed pneumonia.

Poor old boy, hope he's not too bad.

Poor guy was suffering from pneumonia before he contracted Convid.
