We are getting an earlyish ferry from Dover on Saturday morning and, as it’s difficult to park the MH overnight in Dover (I’ve emailed to complain) we are parking up at the park and ride in Canterbury.

I have just signed up for their automatic charging scheme ( uses ANPR) so I won’t have to use one of their payment machines at the crack of dawn.

Other Funsters might be interested, using my phone and can’t do links.

Can pay at machine by bus stop or at the barrier as you leave. We left at 6.30 am one morning in June with no problem using a debit card.

Its no problem paying at the barrier we left at 0230 in the morning contactless payment and away we went

It’s been a while since we stayed at Canterbury. I’d forgotten / didn’t know you could pay at the barrier. We use an account for the Dartford crossing and I like the idea of just driving through.

Last time we were there we left in 4” of snow and snowing heavily, would have loved the ANPR stay inside option

Many thanks for sharing ?

It’s excellent - a dedicated and secure space for Motorhomes. Ideal for folks coming or going to Dover and only £3.50 per day. There is water and a waste point for grey and black tanks. Park your van and jump on the the bus onsite to Canterbury. I wish there were more schemes like it. The only ‘UK Aire’ I am aware of but there may be more:

Just to clarify the charges. The £3.50 is for 0000-2400 i.e. a day, but overnight requires one to pay 2 X £3.50. It is still a good place to stay.
