Please can anyone help with this issue?
I have just swapped iPhones from a 5 to a 6SE and changed nothing but now my BT mail wont work on the new phone and I just keep getting the following message.

Cannot get Mail
The username or password for " Btinternet" is incorrect

I have googled and tried everything I can think of but nothing has worked so any help would be most welcome.

Thanks. I can log on with that link so the password is correct. Everything still works as normal on the iPad. It's so frustrating.

It's a BT email address which I still use even though I'm no longer a BT customer. It was working up until I swapped phones.

Thanks, yes I've tried to delete it and add it again but I keep getting the same message. It's most odd as I haven't changed anything and it is working on other devices.

I recently upgraded from an Iphone 6 to a Iphone 7 and below is the process I would have gone through to update the email address manually. What I did was to back up the settings on the Iphone 6 using Itunes then loaded those settings into the new Iphone 7. This transferred everything including app settings and passwords, the only time consuming part was the Iphone downloading all the apps I have installed which it did automatically. The below settings are for SMTP and not POP3 and will also confirm the server email. HTH.

Click on settings and select mail:

Ensure your email address is correct and then enter the password

Click on the outgoing mail server and check that the primary server is set to on.

Thank you for those settings. I've checked and mine all match up with yours but I'm still getting the same message. The other mail accounts are working fine it's just the BT email.

If you still can, use Itunes to back up your old phone and transfer the backed up files onto your new phone.

Unfortunately when I bought the phone the chap in the Three store just told me to take the SIM card out of my old phone and put it in the new phone and everything should work without a problem. I don't think I can go backwards now or can I?

The apps, passwords etc are stored on the Iphone and not the sim card. I would put the sim card back into the old phone, run Itunes and back up the old phone. Put the sim in the new phone and connect to Itunes and then load the back up file you just created of your old phone. May work or not but I would give it a try anyway. HTH

Also have you tried logging into your Btinternet account using your logon details on an other device, pc etc? If this works then the chances are the password is not being entered correctly onto the Iphone. The Caps function on my Iphone have resulted in me falling out with the phone on numerous occasions.

I think there must be something on the sim that is corrupting the back up on the iPhone 5 as I get a message saying the back up was incomplete. I've tried it several times with encryption and without but no success.
Thanks again for your help, it was worth a try.
