Was a Newbie but getting the hang of it now.
I'm New to this game.
We have bought a brand new MH and are getting a refillable system installed in March. We will be using the mh in the meantime and have a bottle of the green propane and want to know whats the difference between the red and green gas bottles and if I was to use the green would I damage the oven and hob???

By green bottle I assume you mean patio gas.
The gas is the same but your regulator probably won't fit.
Better using Calor propane which should be a direct fit....and a bit cheaper.
RED bottle is PROPANE.
BLUE bottle is BUTANE.
BUTANE is no good in winter as at low temperatures the liquid doesn't turn to gas vapour.
PROPANE is good well below freezing

The green is normally patio gas which is a mixture of butane & propane. Yes you can use it but the propane will vaporise first leaving butane in the cylinder which won't work very well at this time of year and your heater probably won't work as the gas flow rate will be too low.
Better to get a propane bottle, you can often pick a bottle up for a fiver from your local community tip.
