Thinking about it Graham, it would imply that the caravan is indeed a self contained dwelling if the onboard facilities were used instead of those in the main house which would then need planning permission according to the 1960s act.Where do you get that from John? The 1960 Act only talks of "human habitation" not different acts such as sleeping, cooking or using the facilities.
To sleep only in it would be a temporary extension of the property,not a seperate self contained unit.
