Can we press go yet?

If you scroll up to the top of the page you linked to, there's a section on what rules change on the 12th April.

From 12 April:

  • non-essential retail will be able to reopen
  • personal care premises such as hairdressers and nail salons will be able to reopen
  • public buildings such as libraries and community centres will be able to reopen
  • outdoor hospitality venues will be able to reopen, with table service only
  • most outdoor attractions including zoos, theme parks, and drive-in performances (such as cinemas and concerts) will be able to reopen
  • some smaller outdoor events such as fetes, literary fairs, and fairgrounds will be able to take place
  • indoor leisure and sports facilities will be able to reopen for individual exercise, or exercise with your household or support bubble
  • all childcare and supervised activities will be allowed indoors (as well as outdoors) for all children. Parent and child groups can take place indoors (as well as outdoors) for up to 15 people (children under 5 will not be counted in this number)
  • weddings, civil partnership ceremonies, wakes and other commemorative events will be able to take place for up to 15 people (anyone working is not included in this limit), including in indoor venues that are permitted to open or where an exemption applies. Wedding receptions can also take place for up to 15 people, but must take place outdoors, not including private gardens
  • self-contained accommodation will be able to open for overnight stays in England with your household or support bubble
  • you should continue to minimise the amount that you travel where possible
  • care home residents will be able to nominate two named individuals for regular indoor visits (following a rapid lateral flow test)
We are off on the 12th (y)

Government advice issued yesterday permits campsites to open from 12th April, but we are not allowed to go on holiday or stay overnight away from home unless for specifically permitted reasons.

I think you may've just missed some detail but if it's us that've missed something :) who are the "we" and where are they? :)

For most people on this forum*, from April 12th, holidaymakers with self contained facilities can stay away from home overnight. e.g. our shower & toilet equipped motorhomes can stay on campsites.

About 5 weeks later if we stay on track, hotels & facilities at campsites can open up. The latter will help tent users & smaller motorhomes.

edit: *- the people looking at gov.uk rather than Scotland's or Wales' equivalent government updates ;)

The caravan club are open and taking bookings for the week.

No facilities on site but obviously still charging the full rate as if we have an obligation to help them out.

So we cancelled the week we had booked on the main site and now have a lovely little farm CL down the road.
No facilities other than Electric and water £12.50 per night. A lot more acceptable price for basically parking and a third of the cost of a main site with no facilities(y)

We think CL's will be the way forward for us now.

I’m glad you can go away in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 but PLEASE remember Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 is not open until at least the end of the month it is illegal to come to Scotland at the moment until it’s opens up officially. The police will come down hard on this matter. Enjoy England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 until we can come visit them it’s open for motorhome fun to begin all over the uk 🇬🇧 👍🥃😷🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
