We are overnighting at the port at Imperia, Italy and we are flabbergasted to see literally dozens of these high end ships all around and worth £squillions. Yet this is such a small place compared with say Nice, Monaco etc just over the border. Most of them are registered in Bahamas or Malta.
I wonder who these belong to.. Arabs, racing car drivers, footballers, actors.. Jim even.. ??

Do we think the owner of the first pictured yacht might be compensating for something? :pinocchio::pinocchio::pinocchio:

596 would love those. He probably owns one of them,?BUSBY.

I love to build one of these myself (or have one built haha) but I am missing the £squillions part of the equation..
I could retire on this quite easily :D

80Ft is on order lol :D (In my salty dreams)

Smaller version of the same brand...

I get very sea sick so as lovely as they are not for Me.
Ralph and Huey over the side of the boat.

Unlucky.. I love the rough seas... until a dive cylinder escapes from it's bungee and rolls over your flip flops..

sylvester1954 I’m liking the one in the second pic, so I’ll tell you what..... ask them if they’ll take both of our Kinghams in as a straight swap for it and we can share the yacht 50/50 throughout the year :hugs:

A few years ago I was at a Marina Manager's conference in Barcelona talking to the manager of a super yacht marina in the Mediterranean, he had the same problem we had up in the glamorous North sea with owners under reporting the length of their boat to save a couple of quid* on mooring fees.

*OK I'll admit it those boats will be paying £5,000 a night, more than the annual mooring fee up here! Still the fact is the Captain's still tried to save.

We spotted this yacht in Stornoway in June. Beautiful.

Many years ago as a young and poor person, I toured the south of France in a Ford Escort van with an army surplus tent, surviving on the money obtained by returning bottles and reclaiming the deposit, courtesy of foreign campers who couldn’t be bothered to take them back.

I went to Monte Carlo and saw Khashoggi’s “yacht” moored there, complete with rocket launchers. As I was entertaining myself by feeding the fish in the bay with crumbs of cheese from my budget lunch, I reflected that something was not quite right with the world.

I have to confess mine is the 3rd one down, the white blob, moored on side of the big one, which belongs to 596:pinocchio:

Well,I had a narrowboat once........does that mean I’ve got a big one?:LOL:;):roflmto::roflmto::Grin::dance2::dance2:
A long one perhaps, but everyone knows it’s the girth that’s important...... says the bloke with a 17’ 8” skinny sea kayak

They are wilding

Most of the super yachts no one is actually aboard either.
We visited Nice and Monte carlo. The Casino had a minimum bet of 5 euros.
My Brother had a go on the Roulette @ 5 Euros a go. Next to Him was a Man with a plain white shirt { no tie } and He just kept peeling 500 Euro notes out of His top shirt pocket.
He lost big time but didn't seem bothered or even interested He was just chatting to the guys on the roulette wheel as He lost His money.

These are reserved for unscrupulous business magnets who go bankrupt.

Most are owned by big corporations as a tax deductible item they let preferred clients use them. And a quick weekend away with the floosy so I was told by a crew member in Porto Banues.

The "Nabila" was sold to Donald Trump (Who then sold it to a Saudi prince).
Today she is not even in the top 100 of the global fleet of super yachts.

My solution to travelling around the south of France penniless at probably much the same time as you, was to work on said yachts as a deck hand for the summer.

Thanks, the Nabila. I wouldn't have remembered that to save my life!
