It's the fluff attracting button, you've obviously left it switched on

When you press it a high pitched sound is emitted that can only be heard by spiders (hence the web design on the switch). The noise reminds the spiders in your van of the sound made by fly paper rustling in the breeze or the squirt of a can of "Flit" so they all leave as quickly as possible. Well at least that's the theory, or it might be a mirror de-icer.

Living the dream.
Don't listen to them, not a word of its true. It's for winter driving, on icy roads in Germany when you press that it does exactly what it shows on the button. Little spikes come out of the tyres to grip on the ice..........
honest

I doubt it is for air con , as surely the OP would know if they had air con or not , i would say some form of frost protection for a water tank

That should teach the OP not to ask a serious question on Fun.

Where is the switch? Could it be related to a built in cool box similar to my Transit based Hymer? Or controlling the dash aircon? In my experience any switch relating to de-frosting shows a heater element. That one definitely looks as if it controls a cooling function.

Why don't you email Hymer?

OK - just realised the picture is turned 90 degrees and the button is on the dash just next to the air recycle button. That, to me, means that it's the air con for the cab and it's probably not in the manual because it was an optional extra on that model (y) :)

I'd go for air con. If not possibly traction control?

If your vehicle is a Mercedes base, I would go with traction control. I had something similar in my Sprinter but can't remember exactly what the sign was on the button. When travelling on snowy roads the traction control cut in when your wheels started to loose grip. On snowy roads it ground you to a halt. When the switch was activated it knocked out the traction control and allowed the wheels to spin but could keep you going . ( I think)

It always amazes me how much time some folk take moving dust from one place to another...

I tend to leave my dust where it appears...

...then I know where it is if I should need any.

Getting better month by month.
I would go for Air Con as well, but I would have thought it would have a light on it unless A/C comes up on a dashboard / screen. My heated mirrors have the "Heated rear Windscreen" Symbol on it.

Do you have air-conditioning installed?

It may be air con but your cooling unit may need regassing do it might not appear to work when you switch it on.
