Sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place, I will get better at this.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how I can get my Eberspacher D4 heater to run at maximum output for 30 minutes to an hour at a time I need it to do this regardless of the temperature inside or outside of the van. The reason is that I have Bobil Vans water heater that basically drives the hot air from the diesel heater through a heat exchanger to heat the water. The problem is that when the weather is hot the heater cycles back to a tick over or shuts down altogether, any ideas would be appreciated.

Extend the thermostat sensor wires and put the sensor in the fridge, sounds silly but it should work. You could put a connector inline so you could extend it when needed or buy a second sensor then change between the two with a changeover switch.

Or just put a switch across the thermostat so that when closed the heater runs all the time.
The thermostat is just a switch with a binary metal part that closes when cold and opens when temperature is reached.

Are you sure as they are normally a thermistor.

It is a thermistor…..and if the unit doesn’t sense an external thermistor on power up (not when turning it on) it will revert to using the thermistor at the air inlet on the unit itself.
