Can anyone confirm what this indicator is?

I have a 2015 Ducato 2.3/150 with the comfortmatic gear box.

Recently this warning symbol has been coming up, alternating with the no parking sensor warning, the parking sensors have been disconnected so this is no problem.
I have obviously checked the handbook and the nearest I can find is an ice warning symbol, as the temperature is no where near freezing ( and the OAT reading is correct) I’m flummoxed! The van is running fine so I’m suspecting a computer glitch. What do you think?

Possibly……?

Drivetrain, Shift or Powertrain Trouble Symbols

Drivetrain Trouble Indicator
Electric Shift Malfunction
This is a Drivetrain or Powertrain trouble symbol or light, and will be red if it comes up. This same symbol is also used as an Electric Shift Control System Warning Indicator. It indicates a problem has been detected generally in an automatic transmission or transaxle, or its shift system. The drivetrain should be serviced as soon as possible.

Bulb out, or at least the system thinks there is. I changed a few bulbs (working ones) on mine until it went out. It was the sidelight ones for some reason.

Just a word of caution, don't use cheap lamps in a monitored circuit or simple LEDs, the circuit is looking for a specific resistance

The bulb failure warning on our Saab was on quite regularly. I checked all the bulbs but couldn’t find any faulty ones. Eventually I tried spraying the bulbs and bulb holders with contact cleaner. That stopped the warning light coming on again.

Thanks Guys,

You had me worried AndyPK😟, but I believe the bulb consensus is correct, I have a bulb out on my number plate light! and in reflection it does look a bit like a bulb. Hadn’t bothered fixing it as it’s covered by my bike carrier which has working number plate lights but wil have a look today - set my mind at rest, especially as we’re 2 weeks into an eight week trip to Spain!

Thanks again all👍

Yes - sorry about that! ;)
Enjoy the rest of your trip!!

Thanks IRHP, very helpful!

Now the next, related problem. I’ve taken the bulbs out to check them and they appear ok so must be related to my LED bike carrier lights. Anyway, tried to get them back in and finding it impossible so far, has anyone else replaced the number plate bulbs on a Ducato, or I suppose all the Sevel vans are the same?

can be fiddly and the housings go brittle with age. Sometimes you have to unclip the housing, remove any corrosion and fit bulb before refitting the housing

Thanks, I did wonder about removing the housing but there doesn’t seem to be any obvious way of getting the housing off from the outside and I’m loathe to remove the interior door card and all that would entail! What I think I need to do is make up a bulb holder similar to the holders you use to insert / remove fuses and just persevere 🤔

Here you are, the lights are under this long black plastic housing, you prise off the two covers and the festoon type bulbs are recessed in there, easy enough to get out but getting them back in *^#<>#**! As you can see there are no obvious external fixings for the plastic housing.

The black holder is bolted through the door, you have to remove the interior card to get at the nuts. Ours came off quite easily, just a lot of screws!

Thanks philann, mine has quite a lot of ‘furniture’ , window surrounds etc and all the screws are fabric covered hence not wanting to remove the door card, I’ll keep trying to get them back in from the outside, door card removal will be the last resort!

Took mine out the other day, easy.
No need to remove black part.

Wow. That’s a complicated way to swap/fit a bulb. If you are struggling go to a garage take a £10 note, or some biscuits and it will be done in five mins. I did mine without needing to remove light fitting.

How did you get them back in? The orifices for my ones are recessed well into the housing and the opening is too small to get my fingers, holding the bulb, in.

Final question on this subject! How does the power for the number plate lamps get into the rear door? I can’t see any cables or connections as on the sliding door? Thanks again.

That warning light shows that you have over filled your fuel. Look at the gauge it’s past the full mark 😂😂😂😂😂

Try doing a headlamp on an older Corsa.

Bumper removal required 🙄
