It’s gone!!😢
Exp
4 years….
Looking at booking for our upcoming trip and after reccomendations for campsites in Croatia around the KRK area Please.

Had a look at Camping KRK and they had a pitch on the first row waterfront but when you look at their terms it is saying 7.5m length and 4t max?
Anyone stayed in a bigger van on the front row?

Open to any other nice site suggestions..

Don’t know about the size restrictions we are booked on the front row at camping skrila in Krk in June, I don’t remember it asking for size, but then again it was over two years ago since we did the booking (Bloody covid) and we are (going to be) 5ton

Can I ask what arrangements you’ve made for insurance in Croatia as our NFU policy only offers minimum third party cover there?

Sorry to hijack your question Robert, but I’ve never give it a thought to ask my insurer (comfort) about my trip to Croatia, thanks for asking CC the question👍

Interesting point. A few years ago our insurer had policy documents that were out of date and listed Croatia as a separate non-EUcountry. Not realising they had actually joined the EU a couple of years before! Might be worth asking the question.

Have booked up first row at Camping KRK and they are good for 10m, have a site in Porec that is the same and also has its own dog beach😁😁

Their web site did say 7.5m and 4t limit but rang the site and they said different🤔

Heading down that way in June ourselves maybe earlier depending on the weather further North 👍

Still on the list of countries with minimum cover I’m afraid.

All being well we’re heading down through Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia then back up to the wine route in Slovenia into Italy then homeward bound through France, so I’m sure our paths will cross at some point 👍

Not to dissimilar to our route, what way did you plan on coming through Austria as I don’t want to be stung by tolls being 7.5t😬😬

You will be ok if you don’t travel along side the motorway, I have a route through Austria north to south that will NOT put me on a motorway or expressway( S roads!! Don’t forget those, mainly up the Vienna end of Austria, they require Go Box also)
Have a great trip👍

That bit is still in planning but same as you don’t want to hit their toll roads, it’s all down to where the mrs wants to see things, hopefully get that nailed down in the next week or so, I’ll keep you posted on routes, truck sat nav will be set to non toll also👍

We’re also heading down beginning of June, we are going Rotterdam, Black Forest, interlaken then into Swiss alps, Italian alps and if we’ve a couple of days spare we will nip in to camping Arneitz in Faakersee for a couple of nights then onto the Slovenian alps then onto plitvice lakes then onto camping skrila for 6 nights. Haven’t planned way home yet but it will involve the obligatory annual stop in Rothenburg ob der Tauber🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️😁

Edit yes I do have spare brake pads😁😁

It's been a while since we was in Croatia, but one thing I remember is that the ACSI discount card doesn't last as long as other countries, you also have a registration free and daily tourist tax. 🤔

Can't help with the front row rules at camping Krk because the site was quite full we went in May, we liked the site and did say we wished we stayed there longer, because as we went down the coast it got unpleasant with the amount of tourists, there is a website that has a traffic light system on how many cruise ships and coaches are visiting and the best days to go there. 🙄 😯 😁 Bob.

bobandjanie We haven’t booked anything, we were hoping to not have to tie ourselves down to dates we needed to be places, reading that quote is it advisable to book? We were intending to leave it until a week or so before we got to that area.

Hi, we never booked and managed to get on all the sites we visited, but then we never book unless we had been to a site before and wanted a certain pitch, one site I can't remember what one, was like a building site and they still had static caravans moving around, so glad we never booked 😉 one night was enough. 😁 Bob.
