Hi all
In less than 6 weeks from now we will be setting off on our very first motorhome holiday in France and Spain in our first motorhome - we will be away for the whole of March and April.
There are several cities in Spain that we want to visit for up to 3 days each but with them being cities we know that suitable motorhome sites will be outside of the cities - for payload reasons we will not be taking bikes with us so we really need sites from which we can either walk into the cities or easily take public transport such as buses or trains.
Ideally, and I may be asking too much here, it would be good for the sites to be also in reasonable walking distance of restaurants, supermarkets, etc.
The cities we would like to visit are:
Seville
Jerez
Gibraltar
Granada
Valencia
Barcelona
Really would be grateful for any suitable sites that you can recommend and also any other information that you can give a pair of motorhome virgins would be appreciated.

For Barcelona Santa Coloma de Cervello has a lovely aire. Trains to city centre are frequent and cheap and the station is only about 5 mins. There are supermarkets in Santa Coloma about 5 mins walk away in in the opposite direction to the station.

Cadiz...we stayed at the campsite at El Puerto de Santa Maria....you can catch the ferry to Cadiz which is about 10/15 mins away. The campsite has a good restaurant and there are shops within about 10 mins walk..

ACSI Book, All the Aires Book, Internet sites La Paca and Areas AC, finally Camper Contact, armed with these will give you all the information you require. Good choice of cities on your list...don't know about Gib.
I'm sure you will have a good time.

The Marina is a nice stop but a little noisy with the clanking, the football ground is a cheaper normally quieter option. carry on past the border to the sea and the road bends to the left its 100 yards on the left I think its 5 euros.

IMO forget the aires books - go for camper contact app and ccinfos

The one that a lot of people use for Granada is "camping reina isabel" worth trying to book though as the site is not massive.

Corboda is nice with a good sized "aire" only a short walk to town.

For Barcelona we used Camping Barcelona at Matero
http://www.campingbarcelona.com/
They have a free bus from the site at 0930 every morning to the centre of Barcelona picked up at the same place at 1800 and returned to site.
The site was €19 per night with ACSI

For Seville we used ...
http://www.puertogelves.com/
bus stop outside the gates and restaurant on the Marina.I think it was €12 night inc EHU and is in the All the Aires, Spain book.

Valencia try: Valencia Camperpark - nothing fancy, but everything you need and an excellent Paella. Arrive early or book ahead. 5 mins walk to the Metro station for a 20 minute ride into the city. Just a few euros return. The Indoor Market is a must. The Camperpark will give you a good map, sell metro tickets and give you advice - like hold your arm out to stop the train and on the way back sound the bell before your stop.

Granada: Las Lomas - the bus passes the gate for Granada. Spectacular setting and brilliant restaurant.

I go along with jumar - include the Aires Spain & Portugal book because I've found the info sometimes better than Campercontact, excellent though it is, especially for public transport which we use a lot.
