Hi there

We are sorting out a quick dash to Malaga over the Christmas and New Year period. Going over on the Ferry to Santender and heading down through Madrid to Malaga. Looking for some help from seasoned Spanish travellers who could recommend a good campsite open in the Winter around the Madrid area for overnight stop each way..

I am sure there are a number of funsters staying in spain over the winter and some will be along to suggest good sites soon.

In the meantime why not join us at the Mersea Island meet in a few weeks time 22-24 November its not too far for you.

come along meet some of the funsters and you never know, some may also be going to spain.

Hope you find somewhere lovely

We stop here:

Stunning scenery, fresh mountain air, good food in the village, La Cabrera. Not the best of touring pitches for winter use (grass), but hey, we only stop one night.

Seems expensive considering your comments about poor pitches.

Doesn't seem fair to MH's being charged more when they take up less space than a car & caravan?

I can recommend Camping Internacional at Aranjuez, south of Madrid. It is open all year and is an ACSI site.

It's more important to find somewhere open in the winter. You will find it costs less if you are an ACSI member (16€ this year).

The camp Brisey for me is the better one We have done both better pitch on Site food and Bar, When you set off next morning you are passed Madrid and all the traffic, nice easy run to the Motorway. Pete :thumb::thumb:

Ps If the pitch is wet you can park on the road to save getting stuck.
