Campsite near Peterborough. Any recommendations please?

I am thinking of going down on tuesday and having a couple of nights of peace and quiet with a hookup before meeting up with all the boisterous funsters on Thursday.

Can anyone recommend a good site near Peterborough that are quiet and have EHU's please?

no, it's not, don't think the CClub have any adults only sites .. in saying that, it has always been peaceful when we visited.. maybe better looking for a CL

There is a pick your own fruit site nearby that as a cl site but I need my navigator for more information and she is on walk about somewhere

I don't yet have a MH but I do live near PBoro and frequent Ferry Meadows Country Park.
Ferry Meadows is an excellent & convenient location. And from all I've read, the site is good.

Fine shade is what the CC "Stamford caravan club site" is a nice small site with no facilities but nice and quite with some great walks and only about 20 mins from Peterborough, we are there from Weds to Sat and try to go there at least 3 times a year.

Stroud park in pidley, adult only 30mins to peterborough
Yarwell mill off the a1 10 mins into peterborough

How about Lyndon Top at Rutland water great for walking ,cycling ,golf ,sailing etc or peacefully enough to sit back and watch the Ospreys !
25 mins to the showground .

Sorry should have said, yes EHU and water and Motorhome Dump point, cafe next door which opens 09.00 to 17.00 has toilets.

Fields End Water, Doddington, adults only camp site, full sevices. Looks lovely, bus stop outside campsite.

Rutland caravan and camping -CC affiliated site and has adult only section. We have stayed there many times and it's nice. Easy walk to village with 3+ pubs which serve good food.

Kath, Rutland is a bit far away. I was hoping to be within a couple of miles.

I will be phoning around them all tomorrow to try and get in to one of the suggestions above.

Everywhere was booked up

I managed to get booked in at Slate Drift just south of Stamford. 1083 in the CL guide if anyone is interested.

Arrived at Slate Drift. What a beautiful little CL and a friendly owner. The only downside is there is a quarry or some some other industrial building spoiling the view in one direction. A bit of judicious parking and I can't see it though

On to Peterborough tomorrow for the fun and games.

Just spent the day at Sacrewell Farm five mins from the showground . Its near Wansford and has EHU, looks really nice.
