We are looking at going down to the south of Spain in October and have been looking for campsites, bearing in mind we have a 33ft RV.

Has anyone been to either of these campsites, if so would they be suitable for an RV and were they good campsites?

Camping Cueva Negra - Mojacar
Camping Las Lomas - Granada

Or do you have any recommendations for those two areas instead.

We have emailed them both and they have both replied saying we would be ok but we have done that before and it wasn't as easy as they made it sound.

I don't think you'll be able to get on Cueva Negra - here's an excerpt from my book see the www. (2003):

After lunch we took a small road to Los Molinos Del Rio Aguas with wonderful views back towards Sorbas then onto the motorway to Garrucha and Mojacar where we hunted and found Camping Cueva Negra. Here we surprised our friends Peter, Jenny and Ben the dog and spent a hot sunny afternoon socialising. Their campsite was new, small, nestled in the hills, beautifully planted and maintained with all pitches fully serviced. I invited them to Almerimar ‘you really must see it.’ The coastal views on the return journey through Carboneras were spectacular.

We went in our car and decided the 33ft RV wouldn't make it - from what I can remember there was an acute dip down then up again on the approach - a mjor grounding situation and the site would have been difficult to manouevre in.

I haven't used the site in Granada but did use La Reina Isobel in La Zubia where it was possible to get the RV round with the car attached but we had to park on a pitch in the corner thereby blocking another one that made it handy to park the car. Nice site, good restaurant bus stops outside and makes a 20-min journey to the centre of Granada.

I'm editing this because I've just remembered where Las Lomas is - in Guejar Sierra - you can get your RV in there. It's a long drag up the hill from Granada past the reservoir to the top of the hill. Not a site to use if you don't have alternative transport as it's quite away from Granada - do they have a bus? Fairly open, largish pitches and great views back down the mountain. Could get cold at night your pretty high there.
