Camping in or near La Rochelle please. (1 Viewer)

We are looking to drive from Roscoff to La Rochelle on Thursday, anyone know of any nice sites/aires/camping?

We use the park and ride aire in La Rochell. We used it last week and because it was a nice day we walked into town which took us 15 mins!

But your price for the aire includes a return bus fare to the town.

The Park and Ride is fine although it might be wotrth checking out whether you can stop at Minimes. Its has previously been allowed in the winter months.

You don't say how much time you have but if the weather is OK and you fancy a bit of scenery the Ile de Re bridge is only 8 euros to cross at this time of year.

we had a couple of days on the Ile de Re last week and the weather was really kind to us. The campsite we were on I think closed now but there is an aire just over the bridge if you wanted to stay a night! ChazandZoe

There are quite a lot of aires on the Island, but yes agree with Jo662 dont think many if any campsites will be open.

We too used the Park and Ride Aire. Easy dedicated bus shuttle ride into the centre of town.

Il de Re is a good shout, have been there in the summer, would be good to see it out of season.

We too have been to the Isle de Re and liked it. But I doubt there will be any campsites open at this time of year. So will have to be Aires I suspect.

We've used Park & Ride twice , been good each time. Also stayed on Ile de Re on an Aires which may still be open? Don't forget you have to pay a toll to get onto Ile de Re & wouldn't think they'd be much open there this time of year.

Port Les Mimimes easy access to LA Rochelle 5 mins on bike or electric water bus half a dozen decent restaurants, a open all hours mini mart. No services but hard standing in the Marina. Stayed there earlier this year on our last Meander
