Are camping cheques still a good option. Just looked at there wab site and there is now a curency add on. So 7 cheques almost £85 x €1.3 = €110 or just over €15 a night. What do French sites charge at this time of year?

Municipal sites around £5 /night but a lot don't open till June. 3 to 5 star sights now around £10 to £15.

it's a yes and no answer...

some site's fees are 20+€ therefore cheques have an advantage as they usually include services (ehu etc.)

any site with less than 15€ is break even although if they charge extra for services the cheque is a better bet.

A lot depends on on your individual needs e.g. big site with facilities or cheaper muni/aire around 5€/n

To help give you an idea of site costs, Parc Verger charge is currently 14.50 Euros with a 10% discount for MHFun members::bigsmile:, so 13.05 Euros, and we give 7 nights for the price of 6, so for a week the pitch charge is 78.30 Euros, or 11.18 per night.

Electricity (16A) is 4 Euros per night (our electricity cost last month worked out at 4.16 per occupied pitch per night, so we make nothing on that!).

Costs per night for MHFun members in sterling (1 Euro = 78p) therefore :

1 night: 13.05 + 4.00 = 17.05 Euros = £13.30
7 nights: 11.18 + 4.00 = 15.18 Euros = £11.83 per night

We hope this helps - if you are coming please book in advance - we are full at present!:thumb:

We bought ours through the Caravan Club in December and paid £10.30per cheque (minimum 7 cheques). This was for fourteen cheques and we have also gone for the French Passion membership which should cover our time in France. The idea of the Camping Cheques was to give us more freedom, but this is the first time that we have used them. Time will tell !

Hi,

Personally I think the ACSI Camping Card is a better buy and gives a lot more choice details at. Link Removed
Just my opinion of course.

As a caravaner loved CC (had some great multi country tips on the cheap) but when got twin axle struggled on some site to get through their access gates.

What happens with an RV?

Is there a way of finding out sites with larger entrances.

We loved out of main season as hate sites that are full to bursting high season.

Hi John,

The ACSI Guide shows sites suitable for motorhomes >7.5 metres and 4 tonnes.
