Question for snowbirds...
Has anybody stayed at Camp Amalfra over the winter period? If so any issues to be aware of?
Thinking of going on the CandCC 'rally' there in Jan to April time. On the surface it looks a great site, clean etc and has a great gym and seems to be fairly close to the railway.

We have wintered here previously.

Good points:
Rally Stewards were excellent
Good sized pitches
Bus and train station close by
Alfas del Pi town, in walking distance

Bad points:
Statics taking over Campsite
Rally pitches spread out all over Site
Ground hard as concrete, nightmare putting pegs in and, of course, then getting them out.

Hope this helps

Never used it, Looked at it, but decided it was too expensive (for My taste). Used to have a big winter R-V community back when. All singing all dancing facilities, if that is your "bag".

BTW, lots of Spanish sites have hard ground though, the "lump" hammer got well used!. I used 5Litre Water containers to keep the Safari room Flaps down instead!. or Doubled up "Mercadona" bags filled with sand/gravel from the local beach!.

We we're there this year for 3 weeks on the rally, only regret was we didn't spend more time there.New owner of the site looks like he's turned it around as it was a little bit run down by previous owners. Just booked again for next year,6 weeks this time and can only echo Blondi's remarks, we loved it.

We have stayed for several winters and really enjoy it .
Pros
Walking distance to Benidorm /Albir
Bike ride to Altea and all around

Bus and tram stops right outside
Good size serviced pitches
Excellent rally with lots going on ( if you want it)

Cons
More casas appearing each year .

New owner definitely making some positive changes with restaurant menus, entertainment, communal areas etc. Look forward to seeing what else he has done . Will be there for new year and staying couple of months. Books up very quickly if you want to go !

You can go out the back through the orange groves and then quiet roads till you reach the main road to the front . Takes us about 45 mins

I believe members Johnsandywhite are frequent visitors to Amalfra, so they may read your post?

True, but the headline rate is (or was) Eye Watering!.
Like many sites in Spain,,short term without ACSI can be expensive but most do deals for long term stops,,BUSBY..
