Hi I am a new member doing a transit minibus conversion. What I want to know are the proper requirements for insurance both home and abroad regarding water supply, gas regulations IE. metal enclosure etc. In fact a list of all relevant sections to totally cover all aspects.

don't have a list of all insurance requirements, but if you contact Comfort Insurance I'm sure they will give some guidance

I dont fully understand the question
Insurance requirements have little or nothing to do with Gas / Water instalation
Do you mean regulations regarding how to etc

its the gas mainly if its poorly done and there is aleak =dagerous = insurance claim = comfort payout .

Hi Bruce do you mean what is required by DVLA to get your bus to Motor caravan ?
Insurance wise it is a case of telling them what you have and taking pics and asking for a agreed value on your conversion.you may also require a gas cert, to say you have done it correctly from an approved gas fitter (worth getting it inspected if unsure-around £30/40 )
I think it was either Geo or Jim (Scoctjimland )who last posted the requirements for dvla/vosa inspection but off top of my head you require-----

seats that can be made into a bed
sink
2 ring cooker
wardrobe-this can be a cupboard
table ----------
all should be fixed but this could be screwed or clipped to floor or walls :thumb:Tables can also be free standing

Gas locker should have drop vents and be metal lined
No doubt someone will have a full requirement list that they will post

trust the above helps beware you usually have 12 weeks to complete

but you can make it comfortable after
they just dont want to see a mattress and 2 buckets thrown in the back

of a van so plan well saves a rebuild later :thumb:
