Decided to stop here in the middle of plastifornia, at Los Albaricoques. All the great spaghetti westerns filmed here, you couldn't tell that now though. Went for a bimble with the doglets though and after a mile or so the scenery is awesome and the plastic cities disappear. Weather poop for a day or so, may do a bit of admin and drink some 90 cents a litre vino tinto. Happy days!

We like the Cabo de Gata area, but haven't been to Camperpark Olivares. What's it like, please?

It's austere I think, small, not very exciting, secure and in the middle of nowhere. That however doesn't make it bad, if you are prepared to go walking in the area it would be rewarding. I will let you know in a couple of days what I think, as we have only been here 6 hours.

A Bimble with the Doglets. Am I missing out?
Directionless walk with 2 jack russels, some may say you are missing out?

Thanks for that. I would have missed it and probably gone down to the coast, we've been to the Cabo de Gata twice now. It gets very good reviews on CamperContact. Must make a note about it.

Some good walks round there if you are fit enough.

Follow the track past the camperstop up into the hills, at the top turn right past a dilapidated, but still in use, Cortijo to Presillas Bajas and onto Los Escullos or into the Caldera Majada redonda.

From the camperstop towards Albaricoques then right follow the track to the Cortijo del Fraile which is reputedly the setting for 'Bodas de Sangre' by Federico Garcia Lorca. It is possible to walk, or drive, over to the mines at Rodalquilar though I would not do it in a motorhome,it is a little bumpy and prone to change with the weather.

Excellent free tapas in the Alba, choice is written on a scrap of paper.

At the moment it is looking very tired and unloved, toilets are clean, 2 showers which are ok but there is no room to change, if you had a cat, it would not be swinging. Maybe 10 mohos on site.

Done a few bike rides around that area.
