Have just seen this and wondered if anybody is planning on going, knows anything about it or went last year?

Last year they succeeded with the Rally but failed to get in the Guinness Records for the longest convoy so are trying again this year.

It is an attempt by a group of Germans to beat the world record for the largest motorhome convoy currently held by an Italian group. They need more than 671 vans I think, it failed last year as the Guinness adjudicator judged it was not a complete convoy. They are camping on a military base and having a rally with large marquees, entertainment, food etc... there are sponsors providing prizes etc..

Turn up on 14th September, Convoy 15th, party in the evening depart 16th. It is all happening just south of Kulsheim, between Frankfurt and Stuttgart.

We are thinking of heading to Germany in September and this seemed like somewhere to think about aiming for and a chance to be part of a Guinness World record.

Only issue is that it is all in German (Google translate only goes so far), but they have lots of nationalities attending and are very welcoming.

At the moment we are undecided, if we do actually get to Germany we shall go along would seem silly not to. Really wanted to see if anybody went last year or was thinking about this year.

The record attempt can get a bit tedious , done it with Landrover,
lots of getting in queues and waiting about , then people don't seem to be able to anticipate , and use the accelerator , so a gap develops and that snookers it !

Yes i think you can only have two vehicle lengths between vehicles, any more and the ones behind don't count! It would be a logistical nightmare, frustrating but fun if you pull it off
