I have re subscribed to Camper Contact (app) which was one of my favourites a few years back…… now I can’t work out how to find free Aires……… I would think that Lenny HB or DBK might know?

I know I can filter for zero cost but then I end up with everything including France Passion, Britstops etc.

Is there an old fashioned ‘Aire’ button?

🙂

Maybe I can help. If you have got the page with "where do you want to go?", you'll see a search box underneath that. Beneath that are buttons - Filters, Campsites, Motorhome Stopovers and some other stuff to the right.

Motorhome Stopovers is what you want. It stays there once you are on the map, of have picked a place.

Try that, ask again in a minute - I'll stay here for a while.

K. Type in a place, say Cherbourg, and I'll do the same.

I think they might be having a problem - I can't get it to search for anything.

what have you got after typing in Cherbourg?

Only 2 places so I pinch zoomed out a few miles and got loadz

Did crash a few mins ago on iPhone but for this exercise I’m on iPad

K. Have you seen the "Motorhome Stopover button. It should under the search box, which itself is under the map.

You got this?

Sorry about the size of it!

Looks like the cost filter isn't working. Hang on.

It appears to filter every type of motorhome stopover……. What I really want is simply good old fashioned Aires 🙂

Have you slid the right hand button of the cost filter all the way to the left?

Yup, but still get free other stuff as well…. I was rather hoping for a single filter

Gottit. It thinks it is being clever. You basically have to focussing on an area. I think a combination of Motorhome stopover and £0-£0 will just give free places. I'll try it

It shows eleven places around Cherbourg, all free. Do you have that?

Can only suggest free park4night (y) ;)

It’s all over the place, I just tried Mulhouse and can’t I save the search haha

Gotta go. Good luck.

Thanks team, I gotta go too, I’ll have another go later….Tara 👍

I'm a bit late but it seems to work for me.

Move the map to show the area you are interested in. Then select "filters". Next, set things to look like this:

I've also checked the boxes for facilities but you don't have to do this of course.

Then click the "Show 3843 locations" button. It won't show 3843 locations, only those in the map area you have selected. In my case this is what appeared:

All are free aires with services. You can of course alter the filter controls further, for example to only include those which are highly rated. I do this sometimes but I've come across good aires with reviews left by grumpy people who moan about paying a couple of euros for water or finding it was full because the town was having a festival that weekend.
