Thanks for all the replies.
I joined the caravan and motorhome club thinking it mite be a 50/50 split.
To be honest I can't see the benefit it seems to cater more towards caravans.
I have picked some sites from other vender and will go though them tonight with wife and offspring number two.
They did say just book them but can't be assed with the wining afterwards so will let them look before a book.
I only want to do one/two nights at each just see what there like.
Would prefer to tour around.
Then we will get to know witch ones we like.
Once I know my route I can fill the day event according.
Don't forget we are new to this not like you old hands šŸ¤£

Our 1st Motorhome
Seaton Sluice fish and chips are the best you can get. Fresh fish, not frozen and defrosted several times.

I agree - The fish is amazing, the portions are massive with the fish hanging out of both ends of the (big) box! Takeaway from there is our favourite and go and sit on one of the benches above the beach looking out to sea! We were sitting there with our F&C one Friday evening and we had a call from a friend who was stuck in a 20 mile traffic jam on the M25 and he was *extremely* envious!

Just booked C&MC Barnard Castle, Berwick, Stonehaven, Melrose and a private site near Moniteith (? spelling) called Tayview. We've never been to any of these but thought we'd book for 5th July onwards and see how we go..

We've stayed there a couple of times and it is pretty expensive. But you do get free swimming pool, sauna and jaccuzzi. It's a lovely site and really close to the centre of Seahouses which has great little shops and even better pubs (when they are open).
At Ā£50 a night I canā€™t see how the pool/sauna/jaccazzi can come across as FREE!! To me at least costing Ā£20 - Ā£25 per day/night ..........

See your point, but in reality we go up there on a Friday afternoon now and then, the pool sauna and jaccuzi is empty so we spend a couple of hours in there then hit the pubs on the evening. A Good Night Out and drive home next day.

I can recommend the C&CC site at Barnard Castle, if you belong to the right club

Not many Cummings and going's at he moment though (y)

I prefer the c&cc site but the camc one is within easy walking distance of the town šŸ˜Š

Ā£50 a night?.... youā€™ve got to be joking. This is why we only tour abroad.

Old Hartley.Nice views of the rocks and lighthouse.Walk south into Whiteley Bay .Can catch a bus into Newcastle.Go north on the coastal path into Blythe.Nice harbour complex but ask directions to the local Wetherspoons.
My wife is not normally a fan but the way they have kept the old interior concept is amazing and they had a "No jogging bottom " policy. Then a bus back.
Also the local Working Mens club accepts guests so cheaper beer and pub quiz!

In Durham itself, the rowing club has a very useful camp site. Right on the banks of the river, central for town, even with a bar (although maybe shut now due to COVID). Here's a link for it.............

The first one I booked in the village of wooler from the fourth is opening on the sixth.
So got booked in somewhere else on the fourth and fifth.
Just waiting for a reply to my email to see if we can do the seventh.
Then work down the east coast.
All the rest booked a paid for until the twelfth.
If I can't find any were I will wildšŸ˜«

Waren Caravan Park at Waren Mill is just along the road from Bambrough. Stayed there many times and it has a small pool and a bar on site (although it may be some time before these open of course)
