Has anyone repaired cracked camos dome cover with fibreglass and does it still pick up a good signal?

You can use any material as long as it does not have any sort of metal in it..
But I was under the impression the Camos dome is plastic ?

Yes it is but i read somewhere someone had done it so wondering if anyone else tried it

That‘ll be one Guinea. :gum:

£150 for a replacement dome

Plastic has an oil component to it.. A glass fibre repair is not really the way to go

I have used Unibond plastic repair to good effect
It is easy to use, no mess, only about a fiver a tube, and so far not had a single fail
I even used it to reattach a couple of fairing lugs on a motorbike, and they get a pretty hard life !

The camos domes are a really thin plastic, I think they are vacuum formed hence the thin makeup, you can almost see thu them. The road pro replacements are fibreglass I believe

Polytek Easy flo is a 2 pack resin mix that you can use quite easily to rectify a plastic crack or split. Remove the dome lid and tip it upside down. Work from inside , that way the crack gets filled and you see less of the damaged area if you have done it correctly when dried. You can use a fibre glass matting or a pvc mesh with it to aid strength. It does work .
It costs a tenner from any reputable site

I had a Roadpro dome on my last 'van. It worked fine, but the dome itself was rubbish. It yellowed badly and cracked under normal cleaning pressure. Also, the fixing flange started breaking off with no human contact!
As I said, good system let down by a tatty plastic cover.
