Cameron Mcnish video on campsites around the West Coast of Scotland

Cameron does smell good stuff re his camper and the places he visits. A real great out doors guy.

Good video!

It's nice to hear about new camping locations coming on-line albeit he doesn't mention about the ever increasing number of local communities who still oppose campers.

I would be up for watching more of his vids though - a likeable chappy.

That’s probably because it’s an ‘urban myth’ in all my travels around Scotland in the last 2 years I have had no issues at all, in fact when I have talked with locals about the NC500 type ‘issues’ reported in social media which is then expounded by the press, they have said they have had no problems and are more than happy for Motorhomers to visit and ’spend money’.
It’s reported that there are 360,000 camper vans and Motorhomes you are bound to get some trouble with those who don’t give a sh@t but the numbers I feel are much lower than social media waffle on about.

Pretty much found the same. Media hype just builds when they get a hold of a story. It made good reading when everyone was worried about Covid and certain rural communities and islands thought they could keep it out.

Our own experience of the Scottish H&I over the last few years have been entirely different to your own in that case.

We've managed to find some good locations but the last few years have become ever harder with a number of places vanishing all together.

The folk in the small outer villages remain very friendly but, that said; a small element of the MoHo/van community have endeavoured to pi$$ the locals off with their careless actions and their neglect for the communities.

It's not as fab as some people imply IMO.
