Belt look at vin plate for payload once you have taken it to a way bridge
Max waight minus actual waight will give you pay load

There will be a plate somewhere giving you the actual weight limit for each axle. Although you may have a lot of payload you can find it’s unusable if all you can do is stack your bits in a locker or garage. Easiest way is to load it up with everything you will be carrying including wife, bikes, dog, bedding, food, full tank of water, diesel and gas bottles then get it weighed. If the weight on the back axle is over then you have to start slimming. Putting heavy weight at the back furthest from the rear wheels makes them weigh more, it’s all to do with levers. If you go over 3500Kg you need a C1 licence. Driving over the permitted weight can void insurance and cost you a fine and points on your licence.

Go to a Motor Factors and ask them to price either a chain or belt for you, give them your registration number which they will enter into their computer system, this will tell you which one you require in minutes.(y)

If it is a 3 litre I am almost, emphasis on almost, sure it is a chain.
You are going to have to take it to someone trustworthy to confirm it.
